SCRIPTURE: ACTS 3:1-11
Question(s) for Reflection
* Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
* Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 3rd August 2024 Outline:
This chapter contains the first recorded miracle in the early church. Peter and John went to the temple to pray (v.1); a practice that is very important for any ministry success. Where did they learn this lifestyle? See Mark 1:35 and Luke 8:40. What is the impact of your prayer life on those around you?
The crippled beggar asked for money (v.3), but instead he was healed through what Peter said (vs.4,6) and what he did (v.7). This healing proves that the crucified Jesus is alive; not only as an affirmation of faith but also as a dynamic power which transforms lives and situations of men.
Notice the reaction of the people to the healing of the beggar (vs.9-11)? When God performs a miracle through us, it is primarily to attract unbelievers to Himself and the gospel, never to ourselves as we shall see tomorrow.
Practice/Word Application
Thought: Our faith in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ releases the power to change lives.
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
